Current News in the Colorants Industry
The "Secrets of New York" television program is periodically broadcasting a one-hour documentary titled "Made in New York:  City of Industry".  The
documentary has segments on the Shipbuilding Industry, Dye Industry, and Garment Industry.   The director and producer is noted filmmaker and Emmy
award nominee
Buboo Kakati.

The Dye Industry segment was made with the participation of ColorantsHistory.Org.  This segment shows the emergence of the U.S.
dye industry in Brooklyn
in the early 1860s and has scenes of the former
H. Kohnstamm & Co. food dyes plant in the Red Hook industrial section.  Also featured is the DuPont
industrial espionage caper involving the smuggling in of German dye chemists to accelerate American dye production just after World War I (see
